Running across a post from Fete a Fete blog, Tami describes a really unusual experience -one that fits perfectly into the "Cool Picking Vibe". It's about heading down to a town south of San Francisco to pick fruit!

Cool Picking Goes Out on a Limb -Literally- Finding Where to Pick Fruit!

What's special about this farm/orchard is that it's not supermarket variety fruit- or even farmer's market variety fruit-but special "heirloom" varieties -the kind sold to restaurants for "in season" desserts and also sold to specialty stores of fruit. She describes the experience as inspiring.... and also quite tiring since as a city girl, she had never picked fruit before and had no idea how much work it was. She admits to it being a ton of fun but if you do this be prepared with lots of water, comfortable shoes and make sure you have some space in your trunk.
Canny baking (and canning) experts will Lust for this luscious produce.
