Torrone - almond Nougat!
I always bought that at the Oktoberfest!
It is super sweet and super sticky - and sooo good. I hope you guys all know what I am talking about?
Torrone, otherwise known as nougat, is a concoction made from honey, well-whipped egg whites, vanilla, and walnuts or almonds; it's an ancient sweet that requires considerable skill and care to make well, and in the past was also a great favorite among pastry chefs because it can be used as a building material for making fanciful cakes and other such delights. It's made throughout Italy, and Sicily's is especially renowned.
Anyways back to the topic - the blog " Delicious Days".
I like this blog and not only beduse the writer Nicky lives in Munich. The blog hosts many beautiful recipes and marvelous pictures.
There is also a nice list of cookbooks and munich related links.
Just have a look and enjoy the pretty design and the time and love somebody spends on his blog.
I will hit the kitchen now and try to make some Torrone! Wish me luck!
