I love chocolate! I think I am part of a cadre of chocolate junkies and lucky me, I found one of the PERFECT spots for chocoholoics in New York's Lower East Side (affectionately known as LES) near Tribeca below Houston St. In this adorable little 'hood, is this cute little "internet cafe" meets bar that it is the perfect place for a coffee for a match.com meeting, a first date, second date, I think I really like her date, or after the movie or before you hit the club date. ( enough reasons to go there) -The Cocoa Bar

This bar is the brainchild of wner and innovator Liat Cohen-Reeis opened her second cocoa bar location on Clinton with just a beer and wine license to make fruity cocktails that are so intoxicatingly wonderful that one wonders why you bother going anywhere else. Cocoa Bar was the first chocolate and wine bar and wine bar to open in NYC two years ago but now is creative force in mixology. Summoning bartenders from all over the
city to help create Liat's now famous specialty cocktails, these luscious drinks consist of almost every ingredient imaginable, other than hard liquor. Each of these amazing cocktails has been ingeniously prepared with premium
sake and wine bases.

Get ready for the Blueberry and Black Pepper Mojito- made premium sake, mint, blueberries and a hint of black pepper. This is a stunner! It's to die for!!
Other drinks include a Cosmopolitan and the Classic Mojito (with Riesling as the base), Strawberry Margarita (garnished with a sugared chocolate rim and a chocolate dipped strawberry) ( I had this one. It's delicious!!), The Clinton (cocoa bar's version of a Manhattan), and the cocoa bar's signature Chocolatini!

There is more to this unusual little cafe than just drinks. There are amazing chocolate truffles, bonbons and desserts and great coffee. This is a place to have dessert BEFORE dinner!
Located at 21 Clinton Street, LES, it's well worth the trip- even from Los Angeles- to hit this great little bar. Next time, I am bringing a crowd of people with me.
