I just wanted to share my experience with makeyourownjeans.com. I have been ordering from them for two years and this final experience was the last straw. I had jeans arrive in the same order before that seemed like two completely different sizes, but I figured once in a while mistakes were made, and frankly, I was too lazy to deal with figuring out how to return something to them (they make it VERY DIFFICULT to return an item). But this time, I'd had it. I ordered two pairs of jeans - exact measurments, same cut, same waist, just different fabric. One pair fit fine, the other was a mess. The waist was smaller, but the worst part is that there was a very strange buckling of fabric right in the front crotch/pelvis area. Looked like I was a well-endowed guy! And I'm a tiny gal. Anyways, I immediately wrote to them telling them of the problem and that I had ordered many times before, loved their product, but there was something definitely wrong with this pair. It may have been the grain of the fabric -- I don't know. Well let's just say after about three emails of them telling me there was probably nothing wrong because they made them to my "specifications," I finally convinced them that there WAS SOMETHING WRONG. Next, they require photos to prove it. I had photos taken and the defect is obvious. I even took photos of the pair from the same order that did fit well so that they could compare. Well... after I emailed the photos, three different emails came back after I inquired if they were going to exchange the jeans (that's all I asked for.) The three different people that responded said they never received the photos. Convenient, huh? So I re-emailed the photos five times to three different emails. I waited and waited for a response. I once again had to contact them. They said they would fix the jeans and all I had to do was pay the return fee of $11 plus shipping from California to India. GEE, WHAT A DEAL. And it's their fault. I don't get it. Maybe I'm too spoiled by American customer service. When I told them this did not satisfy me and that I thought they should pay shipping, they said I could have the jeans altered in the US on my own and my own cost, and they'd send me a 30% discount coupon for my next order. Funny, that somehow didn't make me any happier. At this point, I was postal and just frustrated from all the hassle. It was three weeks of me constantly trying to contact them. So I gave in and just told them to send me the coupon and I'd keep the unwearable jeans. Guess what? I NEVER GOT THE COUPON. What a surprise. They suck at customer service and don't care if they lose one small customer from California. I used to sing their praises and tell all of my co-workers and friends about them. No more. Uh-uh. I'm done. I will now spend the time I used to spend promoting them, warning future, potential customers about them. They are good as long as you luck out and they don't make mistakes. Otherwise, you're guilty until proven innocent... and good luck winning that battle. BEWARE: MAKEYOUROWNJEANS.com will never make good on a faulty pair of jeans.

I had a very similar experience when I ordered jeans from makemyjeans.com These custom fit jeans arrived and were not even close to fitting. I wrote three emails to the customer service department and received the same message, “we make our jeans to your specifications. We double checked the cutting report.”
The length of the jean was to be 39 inches and from waist to end of seam is 37” a full two inches short. I kept re-measuring the jeans. I kept re measuring the jeans and the measurements were accurate that I sent the company. However, the company stands resolute that they sent me 39 inch jeans. They double checked the cutting report and I must have not measured correctly. After three rounds of emails the company said they would send me a 30% coupon.
The jeans were $39 but with shipping were $77 dollars. So this 30% coupon is not an acceptable fix for pants that were not made to order. If I re-order with the coupon my total would be $68.50. I’m not willing to take another chance.
If I could get pants to fit – I would be a lifetime customer. However, when a company is unwilling to correct their mistake I think it is time to move on.
I think I'll try a company like Lands End or Levis that will return your custom make jeans if they don’t fit …. no questions asked.

I just received my jeans from Makeyourownjeans, and they are way off my measurements that I submitted. I am not even going to try and return, because I imagine they don't care about customer service. They are awful.. don't order from them!!! If anyone has a good idea on where to get good jeans made to fit. .that wold be great.

Regarding makeyourownjeans.com, unfortunately the posted comments sound strangely familiar . . . I have ordered from them many times and the jeans were not always perfect, but I figured I could live with the flaws because the fit was better than most. Then I received a pair that was totally wrong. Their fault, not mine. Traded email's with Pearl, Sabby and Anna in "Customer Service" (sound familiar?) - sent pictures 5 (!!) times (which they claimed they never received). Finally acknowledged that they received photos and said "some discrepancies are to be expected". Huh? The jeans are unwearable. They didn't care that they were losing a long time customer. As I explained to them, if I had made the mistake, I'd take the responsibility. It was their mistake and they should have made it right. Obviously, customer service is not their thing. After countless hours, I finally gave up. I did post a "review"on their site, but for some (??) reason it never showed up - apparently they only allow the good ones. I also sent a "suggestion" to their "suggestions" link indicating that if they make an error, they should "make it right". In response, I received an email saying I should contact customer service . . . oh brother, that's where I started! Save your money.
