Thanksgiving Day: It’s About Giving Thanks, Turkey and a Parade!

Now that it's Thanksgiving Day – or thereabouts, it's time to think about the day and its' meaning. Yes, it's a day of thanksgiving for all that we have: a place to live, a job, clothing, healthcare and of course, food to eat.
Typically it looks something like this – with lots of people you are related to ( sometimes with that love/hate relationship going along too) or with a family that you have created.

For those wishing to procrastinate the turkey dinner- either the cooking of or the driving to the dinner, here's something you can do- whether you are in New York City (and I was just there last week) or if you to live vicariously on the TV!!

Now having lived in So. California all my life, I am pretty familiar with the behind the scenes of the Rose Parade – though trust me, I have NEVER been nor decorated a float in my life. Done enough of that stuff in other venues and scenes.

However the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade is quite different and here's a peek of what goes on behind the scenes. Please don't tell me you don't want to know because I just don't believe it.

So my friends, let me raise a glass of sparkling cider to you (or if you know me well you know what's really in the glass), and wish you a happy Thanksgiving and a blessed BLACK FRIDAY!!
There will be something up on the blog on Thurs about Black Friday- but if you are smart, start shopping Thursday online and don't bother with the malls on Friday- just pay for the shipping and get it all delivered to your home..
