Two MIT grads have pulled me into their science-y accessories and generally gorgeous design elements! Inspired by things such as plant cells and radiolarians, these cute accessories pull fantastic elements from the unexpected. You can find pieces in silicone rubber, as shown, as well as stainless steel. Now that's inspiration!

Visit the site here on Etsy.

The World's Tackiest Postcards is a cool find with some truly horrifying selections that you'll just love if you're the collector type. Mustard yellows, hideous hotels, bright reds, meatloaf dinners, and plain ol' ugly people are all celebrated in this book of tear-out postcards to send to your best friends, or your worst enemies if you prefer!

You can go to the Klutz site here.

Cool conceptual jewelry from Open Concepts is stunning and ultra-cool. I love this ring complete with bird cage on top; it's just beautiful. Other quirky looks include a ring that turns into a vodka shot glass, a rough pendant-amulet in gold, and a "clothespin" earrings, also shown above.

Take a look at Open! Concepts.

Sick of putting away your dishes? Try hanging them up instead! These cool notched dishes designed by Marc Ballve & Victor Vinyamata can be stored away on a wire in the pantry or on a rack to get them up and out of the way in tight spaces. This new Cuelgame design, shown at the London Design Festival in '07, is just begging to be added to my kitchen collection. What about yours?

Check it out here at Yanko Design.

Talking Japanese watches that tell you the time in their native tongue? Sign me up. Okay, they may not be water-resistant, but they are available in a bunch of neon colors and are certainly tempting looking. (I like the ones in green and pink myself.) They're ultra cool, and you may even want to double up with two watches at the same time! I have a feeling that more watches of the same nifty level will be available on Fred Flare.

Check them out on one of my new favorite sites, Fred Flare.

I promise that I won't do a food post tomorrow. Until then, here's what I'm liking right now: The Joys of Jell-O. Now I can barely stomach the stuff anymore (too many years of hard-core indulging), but this book is worth a look-through just for the pure '70s style mixed in with the grossest Jell-o recipes that you'll ever find. Jellied Gazpacho? Dill Mousse? Molded Ham and Egg Salad? Seriously, it's too odd to ever gone on about. You'll need to see it for yourself!

Check out this amazing post here, with lots of chuckle-worthy commentary.
