If you are thinking of a day trip somewhere in the UK, then a destination you might not have thought of is Blackpool. It has something for everyone, so it works well for families, friends or couples alike. It can get quite busy, depending on the time of year that you are visiting. So if you are only going for the day, it is a good idea to set off early. Arriving at around 9.30am will mean it will be quiet for you and you can make a start on the most popular attractions.
If you are driving, it is also a good idea to get into a secure car park. The later in the day you leave it, the less chance of that there will be. The Pleasure Beach car park is a security manned car park, and it is close to all the action. It will cost £10 for the day, but to be fair, that is a good price for all day, and it is secure.
Now it is time to decide the attractions that you want to visit. The most popular attractions include Blackpool Zoo and Stanley Park. They also include Blackpool Tower and the Pleasure Beach. The Zoo is a must, regardless of your age I think. They have made a lot of changes to it over the years, all for the better. The animals are always clean, fed and cared for well. The prices are good value for money too. There are areas to bring a picnic or you can use the restaurants. They aren’t expensive as you might expect at tourist attractions.
A trip to Blackpool would not be complete without a visit to the Pleasure Beach. There are so many different rides, including the fairly new Nickelodeon area. This is perfect are for your little Dora the Explorer or Spongebob Squarepants fans. There is a mixture of rides, though, for all ages. You will come away exhausted but happy, after such a fun filled trip.
Stanley Park is, as you might imagine, a park! So there is no cost to visiting it. Depending on the time of year that you visit, you could get an ice cream and have a picnic, and just take a walk around. There is a duck pond so you can feed the ducks or ride a bike around the park. It works well for families as well as couples.
The Blackpool Tower is worth a visit so that you can get an awesome view over Blackpool and the beach. You can get to the top and see for miles, provided it is a clear day. It is a good idea to book in advance for the Tower as it makes it cheaper. On the day, it doesn’t always make it value for money. There is a glass floor and a 4D cinema film included in the tour, so probably not best for young children. Have a look at their website for more details.
